The only form of exercise I really enjoy is walking. You can wind me up, set me off and I´ll keep going like a clockwork toy until the batteries run out. Unfortunately a long walk is not really an option where I live, but a couple of inactive pandemic years are taking their toll so it is time to do something about it.
I dislike doing 'regimented' exercise, I find it very boring, but needs must. If I want to maintain a certain level of fitness and be able to do more 800km walks in Spain I have to get moving. Use it or lose it, so they say...so I´ve joined a gym. I plan to just use the bike and treadmill initially and see how it goes.

You are brave to enter a gym. Around here they are used by the already fit, perhaps you are, but I had bad experiences in gyms and would never ho back. I found people rude and unfriendly.
ReplyDeleteGyms are used by the young and fit here too, neither of which I am so the first time I went I must admit I was feeling apprehensive. I´ve been twice now, going when most of them are at work and the gym nearly empty. The staff there are very warm and welcoming as well as helpful thank goodness.
DeleteI joined a gym once so I could workout with my boyfriend. I dumped him, and gave up the gym soon after.
ReplyDeleteAt least you get to do a lot of walking for your exercise, you probably don´t need a gym.
DeleteI immediately thought the same as Rachel re the young and fit! Your solution is workable and I hope you reach your goals.
