Good news site

Wouldn´t it be lovely if someone started a good news site. Whether you read the news online, watch it on TV or listen to the radio it consists mainly of doom and gloom items which is very depressing. The last thing we need nowadays is a constant stream of negative information.

Imagine a site which only contained good news and positive stories. You could sit down with a cup of tea  and read about things that would restore your faith in humanity - like the man who planted 20,000 trees in his lifetime, the selfless work of volunteers, heroic sacrifices or random acts of kindness by strangers, or just ordinary people getting on with things the best they can. There are a lot of good things happened out there, but we just don´t get to hear about them because it is bad news and shock-horror stories which grab the headlines.

I suppose the answer could be not to watch the news at all but in the current situation there is also the need to remain informed for our own safety. Hobson´s choice.

  1. Well I don't watch the news at all, at least UK news. I watch Aljazeera. Because Covid is run on scare tactics here I do not follow it at all in the media except read Govt guidelines from the UK Gov website if I need to know anything. From Monday I will enjoy freedom. I hope that my blog is good news mostly as I actively avoid negativity about life

    1. I don´t watch TV at all, haven´t switched it on for months...I get my news/information online where I can just skip through the headlines. Enjoy your freedom! Your blog is always an enjoyable read.

  2. I read a tweet recently, someone asked why all the gloom and doom headlines. Why do journalists report on all the negative aspects of life, never the positive. It's because they get paid more. They are attention grabbing which means more readers, more clicks, more advertising revenue. Shock horror sells, soft and squishy doesn't.

  3. By the way, I have started drinking Kefir since you mentioned it. Only a few days now but am enjoying it because it tastes like liquid yoghurt and if it is doing me some good so much the better. I am buying it from Waitrose.
